We ask Sue some questions.
How Have You Been Involved?
Backstage Crew and Stage Manager for The Frog Prince 2013, plus cast for the Magical Puss In Boots. (Very small part!)
What Roles Have You Played?
On stage I played a small role as a dancing guard in The Magical Puss in Boots 2011, dressed in my "backstage blacks" I have performed in three UV scenes, although I must confess wearing a black hood you can barely see through, does take some getting use to. Back stage I help out with the various runner and behind the curtain duties during the shows. I have painted scenery, created costumes, helped cast with make-up, squeezed the Dame into her frock and made numerous stage props, from dancing sea horses to cucumbers!
Why Did You Join The Hunstanton Panto?
I have always shown an interest in the behind the scenes element of film
and theatrical productions. The props, costumes, special effects etc.
all the work that goes into making an audience believe. Before moving to
Hunstanton I previously spent some time as an art teacher and worked on
designing sets for a couple of school plays. I had helped with several
community projects in Hunstanton but wanted to put more of my creative
skills to good use. Mayor Carol Bower introduced me to local artist Kate
Dunbar who was working on the pantomime at the time and I received a
warm welcome and became part of the Panto family.

What Has Been Your Best Moment?
I have no particular favourite but l guess my most memorable was our
first U.V. scene that we used for The Magical Puss in Boots 2011. It was very enchanting
and I was so pleased to see my cat costume and props come to life.
Your Last Comment?
I especially have to thank John Giller for giving me the opportunity to
show my skills and abilities and inviting me to become a coach and
chaperone in his theatre academy JGDATA. I have had the pleasure of
seeing the academy grow from the start into such a successful group and
watch our students perform in the pantomimes. Being part of the Panto
Family you experience the many emotions of creating a show through the
cast and crew. You witness others develop into their characters and
watch all the fragments come together to form something that is truly
magical.
We may be called an amateur group but there are a lot of very talented people in our family that shine and I think sold out shows and an audience that keeps coming back for more, is proof enough! In Which Shows Have You Been Involved?
I have been involved in the Magical Puss In Boots 2011, Pinocchio 2012 and The Frog Prince 2013.
