We ask Kate some questions.
How Have You Been Involved?
Backstage Crew and Cast Member.
What Roles Have You Played?
I have been set designer, costume
designer/maker, prop maker, prompt, stage manager, cast extra, puppeteer.
What Has Been Your Best Moment?
There were lots of best moments, hilarious and
touching, but I always felt the biggest relief each time a backdrop was hung…. and
it actually fitted. I loved making the
underwater creatures for the UV sea scene and ‘swimming’ them about to the
Octopussy’s Garden. It has been a
brilliant excuse to make weird and wacky stuff, like dancing crabs, jellyfish
and ridiculous cakes.
It was also fun being a bearded dancing guard with Sue –not
even my own children recognised me. I am so much happier hiding backstage
though!

Why Did You Join The Hunstanton Panto?
I joined because I was incredulous and incensed
that the Princess Theatre had been forced (by Higher
Powers –boo hisssss!) to cease putting on their extremely successful,
popular professional annual Panto. We were a group of friends united with the
one thought that the Show Must Go On!
Your Last Comment?
It’s been great fun working with the John and the
crew; what a talented bunch!
In Which Shows Have You Been Involved?
I have been involved in Robin Hood Norfolk Style 2010, The Magical Piuss In Boots 2011 and Pinocchio 2012.
